Ferry, bus tour of New Zealand wine

Fullers, Auckland's ferry service, offers a wonderful wine tour of Waiheke Island, starting with a 45-minute ferry trip through scenic Hauraki Gulf. You are met by a bus and are taken to three excellent wineries and a boutique olive oil operation.

Wineries in New Zealand charge for tastings, but this cost is included in your ticket, as is lunch at Stonyridge Vineyard. Our guide was very knowledgeable about the island and while tour participants were drinking wine or sampling olive oil, he remained in the bus reading Noam Chomsky.
